Faerie Nights

To anyone who does not know much about this online flash game, Faerie Nights is the name of a web-based game based on the works of Neil Gaiman. The storyline of the game revolves around an enchanted fairy land named Haven wherein many fairy tales can be found. The main character of the story, a young woman called Echo, lives there and has magical powers. She uses these powers to help her friends defeat the villains and to find love. This online flash game is quite different from other online browser games because it is actually an interactive novel or web comic with a story all of its own – a sort of multimedia book that is written entirely in flash.

As a player in Faerie Nights, you have a variety of choices on how to make use of your powers to make your way through the game’s various levels. In the early stages of the game, you can only fly and glide through the air, avoiding and striking enemy birds as you go. There are also other challenges such as winning a race, activating time bobs, and taking on another bird as your helper. As you progress through the levels, you will find yourself unlocking more challenging faerie nights such as using a staff to move faster and striking enemies from above using the far away “flying” staff attack. As you progress through the game, you will notice that winning bonuses and winnings in the bonus rounds become more frequent and that you also start accumulating points for that particular stage.

The story of Faerie Nights revolves around a group of seven wild symbols called gnomes. These gnomes, along with their queen called Sleepy, are locked away in a mysterious underground maze where they keep guarding the gnomes against threats. However, one day, the gnomes were lured into a nightmare realm where creatures called faeries come out to steal them. You play as Faerie, a fairy who is searching for her lost gnomes, in order to help her reclaim her lost magical powers and put an end to this mystery. The game can be played in single player and multi-player modes and with the use of the Game Center, an online leaderboard, as well as a list of all your accomplishments.
